Dad eventually was arrested for lascivious conduct with the neighbor's poodle. I bounced around from one juvenile detention center to the next. Eventually I found work as a celebrity publicist. After 20 years I got help and my father and I finally reconnected. Plenty of water was under the bridge but like they say, blood is thicker than water.
